The handle is made in Opinel's factory with a marquetry process invented by Bruno Chaperon, cabinetmaker. Each handle is unique and is comprised of a variety of wood: Brazil, Cocobolo, Rosewood, Zebrano, Amaranh, Cordia, Kingwood and Santos Palisander Woods.

The 8.5 cm blade is made from corrosion-resistant Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel which is low maintenance and provides excellent cutting quality. The blade has also been polished for a mirror effect and the Virobloc safety ring allows the user to work without any risks.
