One of the largest running events on the Australian calendar - the Sydney Morning Herald Half-Marathon  - took place on Sunday 21st May. Over 13,000 runners were there, and nuun was proud to be track-side as the Official Hydration Sponsor.

nuun got involved weeks before the half marathon took place, with multiple social media posts through the event organisers and attending public training sessions. We also had a display stand at the registration site in Sydney Town Hall, with runners able to sample the different flavours and purchase nuun in the lead up to the marathon. Based on the number of visitors our stand received, and the knowledge these visitors had for the product, it was clear that the brand is quickly gaining an excellent reputation with the public. Sales were also way above expectations.

For the marathon itself, we had three nuun Hydration Stations set up along the course with another Recovery Station set up at the finish line. Overall, almost 28,000 cups of nuun Active were handed out over the course of the day, and we received plenty of positive feedback from runners before and after the event.

It was a great day for nuun with excellent brand exposure and we're definitely looking forward to keeping runners happy and hydrated at the world's biggest fun run event - the Sydney City 2 Surf - taking place in mid-August.
